This paper explores media-techniques of conversion among Arabic speaking Christians along the Nile. Their practices build up on and intensify long existing religious dynamics of missionization (through migration and re-migration of evangelical Christians) and conversion (from existing religious communities into new, transnational movements) and are formed around narratives of modernisation. In past and present Christian proselytizing has articulated universal aspirations that are to be realized in situ through the differentiation between believers und unbelievers. The demand to make a complete break with the past is emphasized by the use of media (books and more recently the internet) and formats (like a creed) that are seemingly removed from the modifications of time and space. Exploring the various strategies and media-practices of Christian proselytizing along the Nile through time, this paper offers a more detailed analysis of a recent prophetic movement and its territorialisation strategies in the context of the founding of the state of South Sudan.Cet article explore les médias et les techniques de conversion parmi les chrétiens de langue arabe le long du Nil. Leurs pratiques se fondent sur une longue histoire d‘évangélisation (à travers l‘immigration et la re-émigration de chrétiens évangéliques) et la conversion de communautés religieuses locales vers de nouveaux mouvements transnationaux construits à partir de discours de modernisation. Par le passé comme aujourd’hui, la mission chrétienne promet l’articulation d‘aspirations universelles aux réalités du contexte local par la différenciation entre croyants et incroyants. L’exigence d’une rupture totale avec le passé est soulignée par l’utilisation de médias (livres et plus récemment l’Internet) et de formats (comme une croyance) qui semblent ne pas se référer aux contextes d’espace ni de temps.Après avoir exploré les diverses stratégies et pratiques médiatiques des Chrétiens évangélisateurs le long du Nil à travers le temps, cet article propose une analyse détaillée d’un mouvement prophétique récent et ses stratégies de territorialisation dans le cadre de la fondation de l’Etat du Sud-Soudan.هذا المقال يتناول وسائل الإعلام وتقنيات الاعتناق بين المسيحيين الناطقين بالعربية على طول نهر النيل. إن طريقة عملها مؤسسة على تاريخ طويل من العمل التبشيري (من خلال الهجرة الأولى والثانية للمسيحيين الإنجيليين) وأيضاً تحول جماعات دينية محلية نحو حركات عابرة للأوطان بنيت انطلاقاً من خطاب حداثوي. و اليوم كما في الماضي فإن البعثة المسيحية تعد بربط التطلعات العالمية بواقع السياق المحلي من خلال التفريق بين المؤمن وغير المؤمن. إن الإصرار على القطيعة مع الماضي يبدو جلياً من خلال وسائط الإعلام (الكتب وحديثاً الانترنت) وبأشكال (كأنها معتقدات) والتي تبدو غير متأثرة بسياق الزمان والمكان. بعد دراسة استراتيجيات المسيحيين الإنجيليين ووسائل إعلامهم على طول نهر النيل من خلال الفترات الزمنية المتعاقبة، هذا المقال يقدم تحليلاً مفصلاً لحركة نبوية حديثة العهد وكذلك لاستراتيجيتها في تثبيت قواعدها وذلك في إطار قيام دولة جنوب السودان
