In the most recent years, genetic analyses applied to archaeology, sometimes conflicting within each others, have reignited the debate around the origin of the Etruscans. Famous archaeologists have brought back the theory of the migration from the East. According to the Author, between the Bronze Age and the Iron Age in Etruria no data from material culture and social practices could justify unequivocally such a migration. The adoption of the funerary ritual of cremation in terracotta urns appears to be the greatest and most radical rupture in the archaeological record after 1200 B.C.E.
