The debate on the crisis of sociology is almost endemic among sociologists, but since the 90s of the last century it has become even more popular with practitioners in our discipline. In these brief remarks I will try, first, to make a few observations about the nature of this crisis, so as to limit the context to which it seems to me legitimate refer such a debate. Secondly, I will try to make some assumptions about the causes of this crisis, using an “ecological evolutionary” theoretical model. Finally, I shall endeavor to show in what ways it would be possible to overcome a “state of things” that leaves many of us certainly unsatisfied
