Cet article tente d’examiner la relation entre le développement touristique, la réduction de la pauvreté et les inégalités de revenus. Sur un échantillon de 46 pays en développement, avec un accent particulier sur les pays du Sud et de l’Est méditerranéen (PSEM) pendant la période 1980-2009, nos résultats suggèrent que le tourisme international est généralement favorable à la réduction de la pauvreté dans de nombreux pays en développement et plus particulièrement dans les PSEM qui se concentrent sur le tourisme.
