Examen du rapport existant entre la conception néo-platonicienne de l’amour et une série de motifs néo-stoïciens largement répandus dès la seconde moitié du xvie siècle. Herrera fait état desdits motifs dans ses annotations a la poésie de Garcilaso de la Vega et les utilise dans ses propres poèmes, édités deux ans après seulement.
