I would like to explore poor black women characters in various novels by Toni Morrison in order to see what type of spirituality is developed in these stories. More specifically, I want to examine poor black women's own experience in relation to such a spirituality. The voices of these women redefine the very notion of spirituality which, in common sense understanding, is often depicted merely as an abstract otherworldly phenomenon.
