The subject of my contribution has developed from the research project “Siegel-Bilder”, carried out under the direction of Gerhard Wolf, Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florence, Max-Planck Institute, and Michael Stolleis, Max-Planck Institute for European Legal History in Frankfurt a.
