The bachelor thesis is focused on specifics of selected psychotherapeutic approaches in the treatment of depression. The first chapter of a literary-overview section defines diagnostics, epidemiology, etiology and risks of depression. The focus of the literary-overview section lies on six chapters dealing with particular psychotherapeutic approaches (cognitive behavioural therapy, mindfulness based cognitive therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, interpersonal therapy and humanistic therapy). For each approach, a way of working with a depressive client is described, as well as its empirically demonstrated effectiveness and evidence-based mechanisms of change.
