10th anniversary of establishment of the first republic and its presentation in the contemporary press

The bachelor thesis deals with the jubilee tenth anniversary of the founding of the Czechoslovak Republic and the importance of this event for conteporary press and society. The thesis analyzes four both party and independent newspapers (Lidové noviny, Národní politika, Venkov and Právo lidu) and compares what were their thoughts about the first decade of the republic and how important were the jubilee celebrations for them. The work consists of two parts. The first one contains a description of political development of the first decade of republic and for a better understanding of the historical context it also recalls the most important milestones of formation and functioning of Czechoslovakia. In addition, the work also tries to outline the media situation during the First Republic. In the second part, thesis describes concrete newspapers and analyzes articles and mentions of the jubilee celebrations in the period from 20 October to 4 November 1928. At the end of the thesis there is a comparison of the obtained results, which compares the importance of the celebrations for individual editors, and whether the opinions of the newspapers differed
