The relationship between anxiety and the self-concept was examined in a correlational study. 82 subjects took the Taylor Manifest Anxiety Scale and the Second-Journed Self-Cathexis Scale measuring anxiety level and self-concept respectively. The obtained negative correlation between the two test scores partially supported the experimental hypothesis of inverse relationship between the variables anxiety and self-concept. The conclusion was reached that further study was needed but that the present data tended to support the hypothesis of the experiment
