Triblock terpolymers bearing with a hydrophilic oxyethylene unit, a hydro- and oleophobic perfluoroalkyl group, and a photocrosslinkable cinnamoyl group were prepared by a sequential living anionic polymerization and quantitative functionalization reactions. Then thin polymer films were applied for the UV-irradiated photocrosslinking of the cinnamoyl groups in order to fix fluorine-cantaining segment at the top of the film surface. Contact angle and XPS measurements indicated that stabilization of the polymer film surface was successfully achieved by photocrosslinking of cinnamoyl groups.
