The article focuses on Bernardino de Escalante’s 1577 treatise on the Portuguese exploration of the Far East and China and its English versions (Frampton 1579 and Osborne 1745). The aim of this essay is studying how information about China spread across Europe in the Modern Age thanks to Spanish publications.
