The topic of this paper is obesity and the numerous surgeries used to “cure” it. Because obesity is an ever-increasing problem in the United States, physicians have developed many different ways for people to lose excess weight. As cases of obesity escalate annually, surgery is becoming the number one way to correct it. Since weight-loss surgery is increasing just as much as obesity is, problems associated with obesity continually skyrocket. The purpose of this paper is to explain how obesity is affecting the economy of the United States.
