Objective: Heat related illness is one of the leading causes of death in high school athletes. Proper hydration strategies have been shown to decrease heat related illness in college and professional athletes. However, limited research has been conducted on the hydration habits of high school athletes. The increase in high school sports participation has put more athletes at risk for dehydration.
