Many high school healthcare career exploration programs have emerged in an effort to raise awareness of the vast number of different jobs that exist in the healthcare field, as well as to increase the likelihood that students will choose a career in the healthcare field. A significant gap in research exists in evaluating the effectiveness of these programs. This mixed-methods study aims to fill that gap by evaluating the effect participation in the Maroons in Health Science career exploration program has on expanding the knowledge of healthcare career opportunities and the attitude toward pursuing a healthcare career.
