Nurses'Quality of Work Life, Life Satisfaction and Service Quality: A Proposal

Currently, the players in the Malaysia public health-care sector are a facing great challenge to meet the increasing demand for the growing affluent market. It is challenging to provide high quality nursing service when the sector is confronted with the shortage of trained staff. The current shortage of nurses in Malaysia highlights the importance of understanding their work environment, giving emphasis to the different aspects of quality of work life (QWL) so that relevant policies can be formulated to retain them in the workforce. Based on the Need Satisfaction Theory and Spillover Theory, and Internal Marketing Approach, this study attempts to study nurses’ QWL, its relationship with nurses’ life satisfaction and the quality of health-care services
