Esta tese tem como objetivo o estudo, a valorização e a afirmação da Gestão da Informação (GI) como área transversal e aplicada no âmbito da Ciência da Informação (CI). Analisa-se e reequaciona-se o quadro teórico e concetual (conceitos operatórios do domínio científico, paradigmas e teorias) e definem-se os limites da investigação centrada na informação (fenómeno humano e social).
