Auditory neuropathy / Auditory dyssynchrony causes major difficulties in the processing of sound information associated with variable level of hearing loss. Language impairment in this pathology is more important than expected for the degree of hearing loss, and tends to increase in noise. The aim of this essay was to highlight typical AN/AD language characteristics, as additional elements that could help in diagnosis. We compared 6 children suffering from AN/AD to children with classical sensorineural hearing loss and children with an oral language disorder without deafness.
