Bibliografia Dorobku Pracowników Uniwersytetu Śląskiego - od kartoteki do bazy on-line : doświadczenia i perspektywy

The article describes the role that the University of Silesia Library played and still plays in providing documentation and promoting the scientific achievements of the research workers at the University of Silesia. There is presented the development of bibliography from traditional library card files to the electronic bibliographic database that gradually becomes the modern hybrid database combining bibliographic information with the access to the full text. There was shown the way the bibliography was becoming an important part of public relations of the University. Through the efforts of the bibliographic team there was built the collection of the library containing diverse scientific, research, artistic and journalist works of the University of Silesia research workers.
