Friction stir welding (FSW) is the process of connecting metals where a rotating tool is eaten along the joint line between two workpieces. One of the factors that can influence the results of welding is the preheating heat treatment process. In this study welding was carried out on aluminum 1100 with a size of 150 x 50 x 3 mm with a tool rotation of 1500 rpm and a feedrate of 60 mm / minute. This study aims to determine the effect of 200 ° C preheating temperature on the physical and mechanical properties of the 1100 aluminum joint using the friction stir welding method.
