Tanggapan Guru terhadap Bahan Ajar Novel Bintang Karya Tere Liye yang Bermuatan Nilai Pendidikan Karakter

This study aims to (1) describe the content of character education in Tere Liye's Bintang novel, (2) describe the teacher's response to Tere Liye's Bintang novel teaching material that contains character education. This study used descriptive qualitative method. Data in the form of quotations of words, sentences, and paragraphs in the novel by Bintang Tere Liye which shows the value of character education and perceptions of Indonesian language teachers at Giritontro 1 State Vocational School about novel teaching materials that contain character education. The data source is Bintang's Tere Liye novel and Indonesian language teacher at the Vocational School. Data collection techniques are library techniques, see notes, and interviews. Data analysis techniques are heuristic reading techniques, hermeneutic reading and interactive analysis. The validity of the data used is data triangulation and theory triangulation. The results of this study show, (1) The value of character education contained in Tere Liye's Bintang novel, which is tolerance, hard spirit, friendliness/ communicative, responsibility, and democracy. (2) The teacher's response to teaching material analyzes the value of character education in Tere Liye's Bintang novel as follows. a) The teaching materials can already be used in literary learning in high school class XII in the second semester of the 2013 curriculum, especially in SMK Negeri 1 Giritontro. b) The teaching material has fulfilled the theory of literary teaching material criteria. c) Teaching materials can be used as examples of behaving in accordance with the values of character education in the novel
