With the motivation to mitigate the effects caused by one of humankind’s biggest challenges, climate change, the purpose of this minor field study was to examine the prospects of renewable energy technologies as part of a larger ambition to offer clean and affordable energy for all, in line with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The study was conducted for El Alamein in Egypt, a city under construction that will house four million residents. By combining a field study and an interview with literature search, the information needed for an energy system model was gathered.
