Evaluation of quality management system and its opportunities for improvement at x children rehabilitation sanatorium

Aim of the study – to evaluate the attitude of employees about Quality Management System and its opportunities for improvement at X children rehabilitation sanatorium. Objectives 1. To evaluate employees' attitude towards the implementation of quality management system principles; 2. Identify the underlying issues that arise from quality management system work; 3. Evaluate employes' attitude towards the benefits of a quality management system. Methods. Research objects- employees of X children rehabilitation sanatorium. 188 questionnaires were distributed. A total of 137 fully completed questionnaires were collected. Response rate - 72.8 percent. Quantitative research was applied in form of anonymous questionnaire survey. To analyze quantitative data, the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (22.0 software version) has been used.. The research of the attitudes of employees at the X children rehabilitation sanatorium, has revealed that the best-rated principle is evidence-based decision-making (averaging 4.11 ± 0.60), and the poorest rated - beneficial reciprocal relationships with suppliers (averaging 3.493 ± 0.69). It has been discovered that more than one third of respondents do not participate in QMS improvement process and around a half of them deny that they carry out the documented procedures and comply with the procedures confirmed. It is noteworthy that respondents included in the QMS improvement process were prone to assess the QMS principles and their benefits more positively. Lack of knowledge about weaknesses of the quality management system was highlighted by 48.9% respondents. However, research data revealed the benefits of QMS - improved quality of services provided (71.6%) and improvement of patient safety (68.6%)
