Assessment of satisfaction with work of midwives working in Lithuanian perinatology centers.

The aim. To assess the satisfaction with work of midwives working in Lithuanian perinatology centers.Tasks: 1. 1. To determine the midwives’, working in the Perinatology Center No. 1, satisfaction with work and the factors influencing it. 2. To determine the midwives’, working in the Perinatology Center No. 2, satisfaction with work and the factors influencing it. 3. To compare midwives’ satisfaction with their work in the Perinatology Centers No. 1 and N 4. To compare the factors influencing the satisfaction with work of the midwives working in the Perinatology Centers No. 1 and No. 2 Methodology. The cross-sectional study was done in two Lithuanian Perinatology Centers from January 2019 to February 2019. 119 midwifes were interviewed: 77 midwifes from the Perinatology Center No. 1and 42 midwifes from the Perinatology Center No. 2. During this survey was used a convenient survey method. Bioethics Commission Permission No. BEC-KS(M)-181 was received. Statistical data analysis performed by using SPSS 22.0 program. Participants.119 midwives, working in Lithuanian Perinatology Centers, were interviewed during this study. 77 midwives were interviewed from the Perinatal Center an No. 1 and 42 from the Perinatal Center No. 2. The majority of respondents were 41 to 60 years old, with higher non-university education, with 5 to 10 years of work experience. Conclusions.: Evaluating the study, the midwives working in the Perinatology center No. 1 were overall satisfied with their job. But there were several factors that influenced the job, making it not satisfying: salary, benefits and the lack of promotion opportunities. Speaking of the Perinatology Center No. 2, the participants were equally satisfied and dissatisfied with their work. Lack of promotion, salary, leadership and lack of work organization were the main factors that made an influence. The midwives in the Perinatology Center No.1 were more satisfied with their work than the midwives in the Perinatology Center No.2. The participants in the Perinatology Center No. 1 were satisfied with the leadership (p<0.05), recognition at work (p<0.05) and work organization (p<0.05).
