Parents, teachers and students opinion about sexual education at school

The aim. To reveal parents, teachers and students opinion about sexual education at school. Question of qualitative research. What is your opinion about sexual education at school? Methodology. There were made qualitative survey from November 2018 till January 2019. Bioethics Commision permition No. BEC-KS(M)-174 were received. Direct, individual, semi-structured interviews by using in advanced prepared questions were made. Qualitative surevy results were analyzed by using content analysis method. The interviewees' interviews were transcribed and all transcribed interview texts were submitted for further analysis regardless of the completeness of the answers to the questions. Participants. There were interviewed 12 participants: 4 participants in each group: parents, teachers and students. The average age of the participants were 46.8 years for the parents, 53.5 years for the teachers and 18 years for the students. Research participants were selected by targeted selection method. Conclusions. From the point of view of parents, teachers and students, integration of sexual education programe at school is very important, necessary and useful. The students indicated that the sexual education program is necessary to inform them about the most accurate information in their lifes. Parents stressed that they had no information about what their children taught about sexual education at school. Teachers' opinion, the integration of the sex education program has brought a lot of innovation, a lot of new information on this subtle and not all freely available topic. Parents point out that sometimes talking to children about sexual education feels as if they were friends with a child, and sometimes very uncomfortable. Students believe that by integrating sexual education into school life, nothing has changed from what were taught about sexual education before. Participants pointed out that it is important to educate children about sexual education both at home and in the school, answering all the questions raised by the children. Parents indicated that it is very important and necessary to conduct separate lessons, and the tutor could be a psychologist. According to the teachers, the lessons of sexual education should be once every two months, leading to a teacher of religion or ethics or another educator who has attended a course of sexual education.
