As a teacher, I am aware of my responsibilities towards the cognitive and socio-emotional development of my students. By carefully building meaningful relationships with my students, I have been able to understand their strengths and challenges. I have learned that students demand high expectations for engaging instruction. The following is an ethnography about my experience as a first year teacher.
