A 1965 graduate of that city’s Pike High School, Yates went on to received his undergraduate degree from Indiana University in 1969 (B.A. Government). Yates then enrolled at the Indiana University School of Law. A year later, he enrolled at the IU School of Business. Yates received both his JD from the law school and his MBA from the business school in 1973. Today, Yates is a partner in the Estate and Wealth Transfer Planning Group of the Indianapolis firm Bose McKinney & Evans.
