A discussion with U.S. Solicitor General Donald B. Verrilli Jr., about his tenure as the 46th Solicitor General of the United States. As Solicitor General, Verrilli has argued for the United States in National Federation of Independent Businesses v. Sebelius, Arizona v. United States, United States v. Windsor, and numerous other cases. Prior to succeeding Justice Kagan as Solicitor General, Verrilli served as Deputy Counsel to President Obama and as an Associate Deputy Attorney General in the U.S. Department of Justice.
