Substrates and alternative methodology for the germination test on treated chemically soybean seeds

The aim of this research is to analyse alternative substrates and methodology in soybean seeds treated with agrochemicals to promote germination test. Soybean seeds from 2014/2015 harvest season with germination equal or more than 95% and water balance in average of 12.5% were submitted to three chemical treatments (crusier® 350 fs, maxim xl and avicta complete) according to the recommended dosage to this culture. Treatments consisted in a combination of between two types of seeds in each roll (25 or 50) and four substrates (germitest; germitest + sand; germitest + vermiculita and germitest paper with pre hidrated seeds). In a subsequent phase, tests to measure the potential of seeds’ germination regarding treatments and substrates were implemented. Based on these tests, the best choice of appropriate substrate depends on the type of the product and the active ingredient of seeds’ treatment. Pre hydrated seeds can be a valuable option to germination tests in comparison to the standard seeds in intention to commercialization. Finds showed the amount of 25 seeds in each repetition is indicated to conduct the germination test treated soybean. Homogenous and rapidly development of seedlings have been achieved by using a constant temperature of 25°C during tests.Sem bolsaO objetivo deste trabalho foi analisar a utilização de substratos e metodologias alternativas para a execução do teste de germinação em sementes soja tratadas com agroquímicos. Utilizaram-se sementes de soja, safra 2014/2015, com germinação igual ou superior a 95% e teor de água médio de 12,5%. As sementes foram submetidas a três tratamentos químicos (Cruiser® 350 FS; Maxim XL e Avicta Completo) todos com a dose recomendada para a cultura. Os tratamentos consistiram na combinação de duas quantidades de sementes nos rolos (25 ou 50), duas temperaturas (25 ou 30ºC) e quatro substratos (germitest; germitest + areia; germitest + vermiculita e papel germitest com sementes pré-hidratadas). Após foram montados os testes para avaliação do potencial germinativo das sementes x tratamentos x substratos. Dessa forma, conclui-se que o substrato mais indicado para instalação do teste de germinação em soja depende do tipo de produto e ingrediente ativo do tratamento de sementes. As sementes pré –hidratadas são uma boa opção para o teste de germinação quando comparado ao padronizado para comercialização de sementes. O número de 25 sementes por repetição é a indicada para o teste de germinação de soja tratada.
