This work aims to evaluate the efficiency of storage in silo trench of Phaseolus vulgaris bean seeds. Four bean seed lots were used with four different moisture contents: 9.6; 9.9; 12.6; 13.2% and kept in a silo trench for a storage period of six months. Samples were taken at zero, 30, 60, 90, 120, 150 and 180 days to evaluate the physiological quality of the seeds tested by standard germination, accelerating ageing and field emergency. There was not significant loss in standard germination for the four seed moisture contents during the six-month storage period. Accelerating ageing and field emergency showed a greater loss in physiological quality of the two lots with higher seed moisture contents. On the other hand, the other two lots tha...
