The discovery of a copy of the Cancionero de Zaragoza 1492 (92VC), printed by Pablo Hurus, has enabled this songbook’s bibliographic analysis and the writing of its transmission history from its first mention in the library of the Jesuits of Seville to its later possession by Jovellanos. Another copy, belonging to Salvá and Heredia, has also been located. Taken together, these facts definitely prove the existence of this edition. In the hands an unknown nineteenth-century bookseller, Jovellanos’ copy was disassembled and rebound with two other fragmentary texts inserted. These interpolated fragments come from two editions, hitherto unknown, that were also printed by Pablo and Juan Hurus in Zaragoza, presumably before 92VC (not after c.1491)...
