This article reports on a number of semantic properties of psych-verb pronoun selection. More specifically, it examines the influence of the experiencer's activity as well as the stimulus' activity and volition. According to Dowty's prototypicality theory, the frequency of leísmo occurrences relates directly to the degree of prototypicality of the verbal arguments. Empirical data, derived from a survey of 249 informants, confirm the role of the experiencer's activity in pronoun selection on the one hand, while also underlining the importance of the stimulus' intentionality, more so than the stimulus'activity or volition.
