La saga Estopiñán en América. De Castilla al Perú

In XVI century Castilian several noble houses begin to move their common interests territories to the other side of the Atlantic Ocean. This article follows the steps of the descendants of Don Pedro de Estopiñán and Virués, Contador Mayor of the ducal house of Medina Sidonia and participant pointed out in military operations in the crown of Castile, culminating with the taking of Granada Muslims in January 1492. Five years later, he heads the expedition that disembarks and takes Melilla, one of the strengths with which the Catholic Monarchs shape their defensive interests on the coast of north Africa. Cinco años más tarde, encabeza la expedición que desembarca y ocupa Melilla, uno de los puntos fuertes con los que los Reyes Católicos dan forma a sus intereses defensivos en la costa del norte de África. Sin embargo, poco después, las casas nobles castellanas comienzan a dirigir sus ojos hacia más allá del Atlántico, sobre los vastos territorios recién descubiertos en América. Dentro de esa dinámica, son dos hijos y dos nietos del patricio jerezano los que perpetúan su linaje en tierras del Perú, dando paso a numerosos descendientes que aún conservan el apellido en la actualidad
