The study purpose was to systematize evidence about the influence of different rest intervals between sets on muscle hypertrophy. PubMed database were searched during December 2018 for studies containing the words “strength training” or “resistance training” and “rest interval” and “hypertrophy”. Seven studies were included. The PEDro score was used for analyzed the study quality. Three studies suggested that shorter rest intervals promoted greater effects on hypertrophy, two other studies suggested efficiency for longer rest intervals and two other studies found no difference between rest intervals.
