A teoria histórico-cultural de Vigotski: interfaces com a educação física nainfância

This paper analyzes the historical-cultural theory in the context of physical education in early childhood education, aiming to verifyits contribution to rethink the concepts of games and playing. Searching for a heuristic reference able to support teachers' work in this area, we study Vygotsky's contribution (1896-1934) to formulating that theory, from what has been revealed by recent and competent translations of his work. The challenge is to establish a parallel between the aforementioned reference and physical education in childhood, recognizing playing and games as main tools for the cognitive-linguistic, affective-relational and motor-expressive child development. These tools also contribute to recreate cultural legacy and, ultimately, humanization itselfNeste artigo analisa-se a teoria histórico-cultural no contexto da educação física na educação de infância, pretendendo-se, em concreto, verificar o seu contributo para repensar a brincadeira. Partindo-se de um referencial capaz de fundamentar a ação dos professores nessa área, apresenta-se sobretudo o contributo de Vigotski (1896-1934) para a formulação dessa teoria a partir do que tem sido revelado por traduções recentes e competentes da sua obra. O desafio é estabelecer-se um paralelismo entre o mencionado referencial e a educação física na infância numa perspetiva que reconheça a brincadeira como ferramenta nuclear para o desenvolvimento cognitivo-linguístico, afetivo-relacional e motor-expressivo das crianças, ferramenta que concorre, ainda, para recriar o legado cultural e, afinal, para a humanização
