La polarización política de la sociedad afgana y su fracaso democrático (1973-2001)

The article analyzes the complex Afghan political situation that the international community found when the fall of the Taliban happened in December 2001 and how it was reached. It describes how the Afghan Islamism developed during the eighties in its various interpretations to reach the emergence of the Taliban movement, and the contradictions that this ideology represents to come to constitute an element of national integration. It is argued that precisely has been the lack of understanding of the Afghan political sociology by many countries that have formed part of the international effort to rebuild the Afghan state, which has determined the animad version to meddle in specific regeneration projects and integration of a fragmented elite after more than twenty years of war.El artículo analiza la compleja situación política afgana que la comunidad internacional se encontró cuando se produjo la caída del régimen talibán en diciembre de 2001 y cómo se llegó a ella. Se describe cómo se desarrolló el islamismo afgano durante la década de los ochenta en sus varias interpretaciones para llegar hasta el surgimiento del movimiento talibán, y de las propias contradicciones que esta ideología representa para llegar a constituirse en un elemento de integración nacional. Se argumenta que precisamente ha sido la falta de comprensión de la sociología política afgana por parte de muchos países que han formado parte del esfuerzo internacional por reconstruir el Estado, lo que ha determinado la animadversión a inmiscuirse en proyectos concretos de regeneración e integración de una élite fragmentada tras más de veinte años de guerra
