This text aims to broaden some discussions around the methodological issues for the teaching of philosophy. Initially, we extract from Plato the notion of “philosophical images” – a concept created and obtained through the free interpretation based on some dialogues. This notion consists of a vast set of aesthetic representations that permeated the universe of the imaginary in the social and cultural context of Plato. In this perspective, the images assumed a pedagogical function contributing to the sensitive formation of the philosopher king.
