Human induced changes in climate, both at local and regional scales alter the conditions for plant establishment. For ecosystem management, it is necessary to quantify the effects of these changes for planning strategies to establish viable plant populations. Survival and growth of provenances of Albizia plurijuga y Ceiba aesculifolia were evaluated in an altitudinal gradient and in two slopes in the city of Morelia, Michoacán, which suffers the effect of the urban heat island.
