The text proposes reflections on the backgrounds of the teachers of the discipline History of Education in Brazil, as well about their working methods. The survey was conducted with 33 teachers representing all regions of the country in a congress (São Luís-MA, 2010). Subsidized by the study of the historical path of that discipline and data analysis, we emphasize the professional culture of these teachers, understanding that their activity is a proposed of learning about something, whose contents and work materials are forged by teachers practices. You can see the feminization of teachers of this discipline, who have 45 years old on average and 13 years of experience in university teaching, 74% are graduates in Pedagogy and History.Le text...
