After the mid-18th century, and as a transatlantic correlate of the support Carlos III wouldgive the peninsular arts and industries, Americanprinters became concerned with providing better inputs for their typographical offices, whichquickly became apparent in Novo-Hispanic editions. This essay presents a series of findings,the oldest sample of Latin American lettersknown to date and numerous unpublishedarchival documents, which allow the reconstruction of the complete circuit of the purchase oftypographical material by the printing pressowned by the Jáuregui family in the late colonial period.
