Pós-modernidade e a negação da infância.

The way that childhood�s concept has been developed may constitute an excellent projection of the values system and aspirations of a society. This evidence can be attributed to any existent concept, therefore it has a particular way of referring to something that is not only external, but to everyone�s past or even at the same time to the future of every human being group. The concept of childhood was born with the German idealist philosophy only in the end of XVII century, at the same time when the concept of the individual showed up and the development of the science had started. Considering the childhood as a socially produced concept, changing on time and space, we try to investigate in the article the infl uences of the society called postmodern in that period of life. In this way, our aim is to understand the elements that contribute to the denial of childhood in the current society and refl ect on the consequences of this denial on the future development of the individual. The hypotheses of this study make us to think that the postmodern society pushes our children to be adult and it collaborates to decrease the childhood time and hence its banishment. In addition, not fully living the childhood, children (pseudo) grow up quickly and become adults that unconsciously come back to these time trying to recover something lost, often becoming infantilized adults. To develop this thought, we used, as theoretical references, authors that describe and analyze the current society from a critical approach of the society.A maneira como se desenvolve o conceito de infância pode constituir uma excelente projeção do sistema de valores e de aspirações de uma sociedade. Essa constatação pode ser atribuída a qualquer conceito existente, porém o conceito de infância possui a particularidade de se referir não apenas a algo externo, mas ao passado de cada um, ao mesmo tempo em que ao futuro de cada grupo humano. O conceito de infância surgiu com a fi losofi a idealista alemã apenas no fi nal do século XVII, ao mesmo tempo em que surgiu o conceito de indivíduo e que as ciências começaram a se desenvolver. Considerando, portanto, a infância como um conceito socialmente produzido, variando no tempo e no espaço, procuramos investigar, neste artigo, as infl uências da sociedade denominada pós-moderna nesse período da vida. Dessa forma, o nosso objetivo é compreender os elementos que contribuem para a negação da infância na sociedade atual e refl etir sobre as possíveis conseqüências dessa negação no desenvolvimento posterior do sujeito. As hipóteses que permeiam este estudo nos levam a pensar que a sociedade pós-moderna, ao adultizar as crianças, colabora para o encurtamento da infância e, conseqüentemente, para seu desaparecimento. Além disso, ao deixar de vivenciar a infância plenamente, as crianças (pseudo) amadurecem mais rápido, mas tornam-se adultos que tendem a, inconscientemente, voltar a essa fase na tentativa de recuperar algo perdido, tornando-se, muitas vezes, adultos infantilizados.
