Efecto de la restricción de alimento sobre variables productivas en pollos de engorde

In the tropics, high temperatures in the poultry production systems tend to produce large economic losses to producers, if this are not adequately controlled, such that the objective of this research was to evaluate the effect of time of access to food, as a strategy to improve productive parameters in broilers in the Middle Sinú Valley during the phase of finalization. For this study a randomized complete design with arrangement factorial 4x2 was used, where a factor was 4 different times of restriction of access to food (0, 2, 4, and 6 hours) and the other factor was the sex of the birds. From day 1 to 21, animals received water and commercial food ad libitum, and from day 22 started the experimental period to evaluate 4 different times of restricted access to food. Dependent variables evaluated were: accumulative feed intake (AFI), weight gain, feed conversion (FC), efficiency (E), productivity index (PI), European efficiency factor in broilers (EEFB), and mortality.
