The objective of this paper is to show to what extent it is possible to speak of the existence of permanently precarious or discontinuous trajectories in Spain, beyond the well-known age effect. The available variables for the 2001-2006 period coming from the Fundació Jaume Bofi ll?s Inequalities Panel have been exploited by means of a cluster analysis coupled with a logistic regression. The results of this analysis show that gender and age are among the most important variables when determining precarious trajectories.
