Todros Abulafia: um poeta judeu na corte do rei sábio

The epoch under Christian rule in medieval Spain, from about 1200 until the expulsion in 1492, is considered the post-classical period, because, for many critics, it�s a period of epigonism. Consequently, this literature has been scarcely studied.For others, however, some of the leading poets would have surpassed the Arab standards, as they were fluent in the Castilian romance language, knowledgeable with Christian literature, and acquainted with the works of the troubadours; thus, they would have given way to a highly original poetics. This article aims to address some links between the work of Jewish poets and that in vogue among Christians. Emphasis is given to the Cantigas de Escárnio e Maldizer genre, and to one of the exponents of the time, Todros Abulafia.A época sob domínio cristão na Idade Média Ibérica, cerca de 1200 até a expulsão em 1492, é considerada o período pós-clássico; às vezes é chamada de Idade de Prata, pois, para muitos críticos, é um período de epigonismo. Por esse motivo, esta produção literária é pouco estudada. Para outros, porém, alguns dos principais poetas desta época teriam ultrapassado os padrões árabes, pois eram fluentes no idioma romance de Castela, além de conhecedores da literatura cristã e familiarizados com as obras dos troubadours; teriam dado origem a uma poética bastante original.
