Add to ORKGThis article presents the findings of a study made on a representative corpus of 25 hours of taped material containing different types of discourse recorded by cultivated speakers of Santiago de Chile. It focuses on the presence of characteristic lexemes that would contribute to determine the profile of “cultivated speaker” in this dialect. Age and sex variables were considered in the analysis.Este trabajo da cuenta de la presencia de aquellas lexías monoverbales que contribuirían a determinar el perfil del hablante culto de Santiago de Chile. El estudio se basó en un corpus representativo de 25 horas de grabación de distintos tipos de discurso y estos elementos caracterizadores fueron analizados por grupos etarios y por género
