The most frequent expression of genetic aortic diseaseis dilatation or thoracic aortic aneurysm (TAA). Theprevalence of TAA in the general population is 10.4per 100,000 persons/year. (1) More than 20% of patientswith TAA have a family history of aortic disease, indicating an evident genetic contribution. (2)More than 30 genes have been associated with the developmentof TAA. (3) Genetic aortic disease includessyndromic or isolated non-syndromic expressions.
