The Learning Standards are the quality referents of the elementary and secondary education in Chile. This assessment is more relevant when it is applied to the group of 4th grade students, because it corresponds to the end of the first elementary education cycle. This research analyzes the achievement of this group of students between the years 2012 to 2016, taking in account 5 years since enactment of the Education Quality Assurance Law and the application of the learning standards. It responds to the positivist paradigm, with quantitative techniques, particularly descriptive statistics.
