Índios independentes, fronteiras coloniais e missões jesuíticas

In the path of pointing out the protagonism of indigenous peoples in the american history, this article proposes to examine the case of a “misión del sur”, a jesuit mission in the 18thcentury, by a perspective that claim the native expectations about it. So, through an inversion of focus and approach, we reach to retake a classical theme preserving the natives from an invisible prism that they were allocated by the common narratives and tradicional recordings. Como uma contribuição aos estudos que têm buscado refletir sobre o protagonismo dos povos indígenas na história americana, este artigo propõe-se a examinar o caso da “misión del sud” dos jesuítas no século XVIII, fazendo-o a partir de uma perspectiva que privilegie as expectativas dos nativos relativamente a ela. Isto é, através de uma inversão de enfoque e ponto de vista, buscamos revisitar um tema clássico retirando os indígenas da situação de invisibilidade em que eles foram colocados pelas fontes e pelas narrativas históricas tradicionais.Palavras chave: História.
