From unpublished sources this article will address the first steps of one of the first Protestant denominations who arrived in Michoacan in 1880, the Church United Methodist bishops of the South of the United States. Their preaching points, will discuss catholic religious intolerance, nationalism of some of its leaders and its attitude towards the religious policy of the State.
