This article presents the research carried out about the benefits that adolescents manifest regarding the experience of acting. These are identified from 6 focus groups, with a sample of 53 people, aged between 12 and 20 years. The qualitative results suggest that these practices can mean a significant help to positive personal development, and can be summarized in: to help to promote different personal resources; to offer an opportunity to explore and express feelings; to provide a context of support and security; to make friends; to enhance communicative skills; to provide resources to be employed in other areas and times in people’s life; to affirm identity and to strengthen autonomy; to develop skil...
